Tuition & Costs

Tuition fees for the degree programs at the KLU are valid for the academic year 2010/2011. Accommodation, travel and living expenses are not included.

Tuition fees become payable at the start of the program. It is possible for students to apply to pay this in two installments of € 7,500 euros each.The details will be set out in the student contract.

Conditions for cancellation

Fees which have already been paid before September 1, 2011 will not be refunded for withdrawals from the program after August 31, 2011. In the event of withdrawal caused by unforeseeable circumstances, it is possible to postpone the start of studies until the following year.

Withdrawals due to unforeseen circumstances (force majeur) will be taken into special consideration and examined on a case to case basis.

Candidates who are unable to attend the program must give notice of withdrawals in writing to the Admissions Office.

The Kühne Logistics University reserves the right to delay or cancel a course of study if a specified minimum number of students have not been met before the start of the studies. The students will be informed promptly of any changes.

Estimated cost of living

Hamburg attracts many students, companies, and institutions from all over the world. Local parks, waterfronts, town canals, a highly developed public transportation system, and a wide range of leisure activities make Hamburg a very livable metropolis. Drawbacks include a rather tight real estate market and high cost of living.

Students of the full-time programs should budget around €11,300 per year of study. An amount of at least €7,920 per year has to be deposited or proven when applying for a student visa at German embassies or consulates.

Students’ requirements may vary significantly depending on choice of housing, living or travel expenses. Estimated expenses for a single person per year in Euro:

Remarks

*Health insurance is mandatory in Germany. Non-EU candidates must use this from a German insurance company. Candidates from the EU have to check with the Admissions Office whether their insurance policy is recognized.

**The monthly cost for accommodation may vary from €280 for a single standard room or a guest room in a student residence up to €500 for shared flats.

***Travel expenses may arise for Masters students while doing their internship or during their study period at one of our partner universities abroad (approx. €2,000-€5,000)

Applicants are strongly advised to seek financial support from external sources, which might be complemented by THE KLU to cover living expenses and tuition fees.
