We accept applications year-round. The application deadline for the program starting in September is March 31 for the first round and June 30 for the second round of the intake year. We recommend submitting applications as early as possible.
Candidates for the Master’s program in Management must comply with the following prerequisites:
Yes. After the third trimester you will complete an internship, which you may choose to do abroad. This gives you the opportunity to put into practice the concepts and methods you have learnt and to identify relevant business problems for your master’s thesis.
Yes. The fourth trimester is spent abroad at one of our partner schools in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. There you have the opportunity to take electives in your preferred area of specialization and to acquire further intercultural knowledge and experience.
For each full course there is a module examination. The types of examination are laid down in the examination regulations in the curriculum and are explained in more detail in the module descriptions. As a general rule there will be three graded module examinations per trimester, and one non-graded exam.
Approximately one third of the students’ workload consists of contact teaching hours and about two thirds of preparatory and follow-up work and studying on one’s own. The program consists of 120 credits (ECTS). One credit translates to 30 hours of student workload (including both contact hours and self study times), the total workload therefore amounts to around 3.600 hours.
Yes. The KLU is officially recognized by the German Authorities as a university and awards internationally recognized degrees. The KLU, consisting of two departments, Logistics and Management & Economics, will cover the whole spectrum of university and executive education, from Bachelor and Master programs to a structured PhD program.
Yes. The KLU awards the internationally recognized Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree. The degree entitles the graduate to start studying for a doctorate, provided that she or he has acquired 300 credit points (ECTS), including the Bachelor degree. 120 credits are given for the Master degree course in Management.
The course of study ends with the international Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree.
Each year consists of a group of students not exceeding 30 participants. This means that tuition is on a seminar basis and ensures that learning and working are intensive. The Kühne Logistics University is situated in the waterfront urban development area of HafenCity in Hamburg.
Tuition and all examinations are in English. The applicant must therefore prove her/his ability to follow a study program in English (TOEFL with 79 points/ IELTS with band 6.5).
The Master program lasts 24 months. The Master thesis is prepared in the last 4 months.
The course begins in September every year.
National and international students with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university or college in Germany or abroad and an excellent academic record. The required bachelor’s degree will usually be in business or economics. Other fields such as industrial engineering, business informatics or mathematics will be considered if your bachelor’s degree consists of a sufficient number (at least four) and a variety of courses in the field of business administration or business economics.
