The aim of the Leading in Complexity project is to identify cross-sectoral core competences of complexity management, to develop innovative methods of learning and further education, and to make them effectively available.
Its main focus is on the following issues:
- Tasks: How have the challenges changed that executives face? How does increasing complexity influence their ability to provide leadership?
- Competences: How can executives bring about sustainable decisions under high pressure of time and great complexity? How can they reduce complexity meaningfully and effectively? What skills and competences do they require to do so?
- Knowledge transfer: How do executives learn in the twenty-first century? How can the previously identified new competences best be taught?
For this purpose the project is developing the prototype for an innovative training module the aim of which is to bring executives from all sectors together and provide an experience-based learning platform for cross-sectoral leadership in complex situations. Case studies serve as a basis for discussion and reflection. The research group then tests the module with a group of senior-level decision makers.
