Student Info Point & Counseling Services

Student Info Point & Counseling Services

Every (prospective) student is welcome to our Student Info Point for guidance and assistance.

We offer you first-level support and general information as well as document pick-up service. The Student Info Point is located on the first floor nearby the bistro.

It is open from Mondays to Fridays during the lecture period, Mondays to Thursdays during the lecture-free period, and staffed with members of the departments Student Services, Program Services, International Office, Career Services, and Admissions.

When students enter university life, they may face some challenges adjusting to their new environment, getting used to the new learning situation or handling a personal crisis. The goal of our services is to actively assist students in facing existing challenges and preventing potential problems. They include workshops and referral to an external counseling service that KLU is closely cooperating with and that supports students to cope with the challenges of university life. It is confidential and free to all KLU students who find the contact details in our student intranet.

Furthermore, KLU students have access to all counseling services that are offered by the Studierendenwerk Hamburg.

Every two years, two ombudspersons are elected from KLU faculty and staff who serve as impartial mediators to all members of KLU. In times of social conflicts, they support students, staff, and faculty in seeking a consensual settlement. Please feel free to contact them whenever you wish to receive help in resolving a conflict. KLU students find the contact details in our student intranet.

KLU's Inclusion, Diversity and Equality Office (IDE) aims to increase awareness on inclusion, equality and diversity matters by fostering the dialogue on these issues among staff, faculty and students. Please find our IDE here.
