Innovations in the Logistics Sector:
4th Start-up Day (February 6-7, 2020)
We proudly present the most exciting and successful start-up projects launched in the mobility and logistics sector in the past several years: Over 60 outstanding individuals and start-up teams from Germany and across Europe will present their innovative concepts for transportation, transport, logistics and supply chain management, and will discuss them with students and practitioners in 16 interactive speaking sessions. How do start-ups use promising innovations of or in their business models, and how can the research community contribute?
Urban Mobility and Logistics:

Digitalization and automation, collaboration and networking, regulation and bans – how can the host of challenges now facing urban mobility and logistics best be addressed? The new KLU public informational and discussion series is jointly organized with DVZ – Deutsche Verkehr-Zeitung and offers forward-thinking answers. #ZuLaMo (Zukunftslabor Mobilität)

Kühne Foundation Logistics Day

Highlight of the anniversary year is the Kühne Foundation's Logistics Day on the KLU campus on 28 April. Top-class speakers from science, technology and business practice will speak on the key topic of artificial intelligence in logistics. Further information will follow shortly.
Sustainable Maritime Business Academic Conference SMB2020 (May 27-29, 2020)
For an entire week, our KLU spotlight will be on sustainability in shipping. The academically oriented conference on Sustainable Maritime Business SMB2020 (May 27-29, 2020) will address the essential next steps on the road to a more sustainable maritime sector. The research findings presented will offer information on the latest developments concerning economic challenges, ecological changes, and on other future-critical topics like digitalization and automation in shipping. Just before the SMB, the international research network Green Shipping (May 25-27, 2020) will hold its next regular meeting at KLU, marking the first time the event has been hosted in Hamburg. The topic: sustainability of maritime supply chains. The network is supported by over 30 partners from industry, government bodies and universities, including the Hapag-Lloyd Center for Shipping and Global Logistics (CSGL) at KLU. Its goal is to generate awareness for and promote a better understanding of the path to sustainable shipping.
Optimizing Transportation and Transport:
VEROLOG Conference (June 14-17, 2020)
At the interdisciplinary academic conference VeRoLog, the focus is on the latest advances in tour planning and network optimization. These include optimization technologies (e.g. operations research, mathematical programming, heuristics, artificial intelligence) that support the operations management of transport and logistics.
KLU will welcome round about 200 researchers from the business sciences, informatics and mathematical-quantitative fields, as well as selected practitioners working at software and consulting companies. VeRoLog is the Working Group on Vehicle Routing and Logistics optimization within EURO, the Association of European Operational Research Societies.
Highlight and Conclusion of the Anniversary Year
The official ceremony on November 6, 2020, on invitation of the University’s founding donor, Klaus-Michael Kühne, will be followed by an Anniversary Party with our students, friends, partners and companions.
On November 7, 2020 KLU will welcome alumni from our first ten years to the traditional Alumni Homecoming, this time with a more festive touch.
