The Hamburg regional alumni group of the German National Academic Foundation is visiting KLU today (21.01.2016). For the second time, the foundation’s alumni are meeting for their New Year’s reception before the impressive background of KLU’s Golden Egg auditorium and foyer. They were welcomed by KLU professor Niels Van Quaquebeke, an alumni of the German National Academic Foundation himself.

The avant-garde architecture has made this one of the most coveted event venues in Hamburg’s HafenCity. The Alumni of the Academic Foundation association, which organized the reception for its members, was founded in 1999.

The Hamburg group has held this reception since its inception. Today, the alumni expect to host over 100 guests at the informal get-together, which offers a view of future events such as exchange rounds with scholarship holder, regular doctoral candidate meet ups and tours, as well as a look at 2015 in review.

Headquartered in Bonn, the foundation is Germany’s largest and oldest organization for the promotion of young talent. It is politically independent, non-denominational, and ideologically neutral.
