KLU Confers Degrees on 79 Graduates from 16 Countries

It is a special day and the climax of the academic year at Kühne Logistics University (KLU) – graduation day, when the university ceremonially confers degrees on its graduates. This year’s KLU graduates come from 16 countries. Today, Dean Rod Franklin gave 31 students a Master of Science in Global Logistics diploma and 25 received a Master of Science in Management. The 23 participants in the Executive Master of Business Administration in Leadership & Logistics also received their diplomas today and joined the graduation ceremony.

The university also honored its outstanding faculty and students. Professor Alan McKinnon (KLU) and Dr. Stephan Buse (TUHH) each received an award for excellence in teaching, the award for the best master’s thesis went to Tobias Gawor (MSc Global Logistics), who also received an award for best student. The other three best student awards went to Mohammad Mojtaba Salem (MSc Management), Peter Varga (EMBA Hamburg) and Adlin Syah Yusri (EMBA Indonesia).

President Thomas Strothotte of Kühne Logistics University congratulated all graduates on  results while studying at KLU and during the other parts of the degree program. The students also had extremely satisfactory mandatory semesters abroad, multiple-week internships at renowned companies and enthusiastically supported and participated in many tasks and programs that a university offers in addition to its courses. Strothotte reminded them that a diploma marks the end of their studies and at the same time, is an expression of a lifelong association with KLU as their academic home. “You will always be welcome here,” he said.

In his speech, Dr. h. c. Klaus-Michael Kühne, KLU’s founder, detailed the leadership principles that young managers should take to heart for a smooth start to their professional lives.
