“We respect every single one of our students. It’s great to see that reflected in the ranking,” says KLU President Professor Thomas Strothotte. On average, students gave KLU 4.7 out of 5 stars, and 100 percent of those surveyed would recommend it to a friend. Thanks to the combination of these two scores, KLU came in first among the ca. 600 traditional universities and universities of applied sciences included in the ranking – and received the 2020 award for “Favorite University in Germany.” “We strive for excellence in research and student support, in other words, in everything we do. As a result, our students’ and alumni’s careers really take off!” says Strothotte. This marks the second successful ranking for KLU, which won the “Global Satisfaction Award” in the category “Best Quality of Student Life” in the 2019 ranking released by Studyportals.com

Instructors and courses received high marks

In 2019, StudyCheck received ca. 40,000 student testimonials, which evaluate universities in the categories Degree Program Content, Instructors, Courses, Resources, Organization and Library. In this regard, students especially praised the technical resources, instructors and courses that KLU has to offer. In order to be considered for the award, at least 50 student testimonials had to be posted for the university in question in the course of 2019; of the ca. 600 traditional universities and universities of applied sciences in the ranking, 189 met this requirement. KLU came in at number one, both among the 81 qualifying traditional universities, and in the overall ranking, which included traditional universities and universities of applied sciences alike.
