The 49th Trofeo Princesa Sofía Regatta near Palma was the first of two qualifying regattas for the World Championships in Aarhus, Denmark. "Racing amongst the best sailors in the world is not always easy, especially without proper training and in tricky conditions like we had this year", Nico said after the race. "That said, being one of the youngest in the competition makes me hope that I can improve a lot in the next few years.” Next chance to get more qualification points is at the Kieler Woche 2018 in June.
