World University Championship Golf

KLU student Tom Schmanns took part in this year's World University Championship Golf in Turin. Together with Annabelle Sapper (Hochschule München), Moritz Krug (Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln) and Michael Strohmaier (Universität Regensburg) he competed for Germany reaching place twelve.

"The whole atmosphere in Turin and on the golf course around the World Championships was unique and a huge experience for me! I am grateful to have been there. Even though the field of participants was absolutely world class, I would have liked a better final ranking, but unfortunately I was not able to play my best golf in the four rounds. Nevertheless, I am going home with a lot of positive impressions," says Tom.

In the end, Annabelle Sapper finished tenth, Michael Strohmaier came 18th, Moritz Krug 39th and Tom Schmanns 42nd.

KLU is an official “partner university of high performance sport” represented by the Olympiastützpunkt Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein and Allgemeiner Deutscher Hochschulsport Verband (German University Sports Federation) and supports top athletes with a special sports program – both financially and by allowing for the balancing act between competitive sports and academic studies via flexible solutions in scheduling and exams.
