Research Productivity: KLU top-ranked in WirtschaftsWoche Ranking 2022

In the latest WirtschaftsWoche ranking, conducted by Forschungsmonitoring, Kühne Logistics University (KLU) was once again among the strongest research universities for Business Administration in the DACH region comprised of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. In terms of research productivity, measured by research output per professor, places second among all private universities in the DACH region and ninth among all German universities and colleges. Several KLU professors also placed in the individual ranking of the most research-intensive business economists in Germany.

"As a young university, we are delighted with this result. It is a confirmation of our work to date and underscores KLU's claim to conduct cutting-edge research and to communicate the results directly to our students", says KLU's Acting President, Prof. Christian Barrot. "In 2022, we welcomed three new members to our faculty. We look forward to working together in the coming years and plan to further expand KLU's faculty and research in the coming years", he says.

Top business professors at KLU

In terms of research output per professor, KLU ranks second among private universities in the DACH region and ninth in the overall ranking of all German universities and colleges.

A total of four KLU researchers placed among the top researchers in business administration in the various individual rankings. In the list of the most research-active professors in the past five years, Niels Van Quaquebeke, Professor of Leadership and Organizational Behavior, ranked 55th. KLU's founding dean and honorary senator, Prof. Sönke Albers, ranked 15th out of 250 professors listed in the lifetime achievement category. Also represented: Prof. Niels Van Quaquebeke (ranked 235) and Prof. Asvin Goel (ranked 241). In the young talent ranking "Top 100 under 40 years", Prof. Henrik Leopold is listed as 65th.

KLU’s Dean of Research, Prof. Maria Besiou, comments, "The outstanding level of academic research is one of the main characteristics of KLU. As Dean of Research, it is very close to my heart to continue to maintain and increase this level. The ranking is a great recognition of KLU's achievements so far."
