Business Logistics and Supply Chain Management

Degree program: MSc Management

Effective supply chains should be aligned with and support the achievement of a company's corporate, business, and product strategies, while taking future opportunities and risks into account. The work of designing and managing effective supply chains requires managers to apply strategic, decision-making, and leadership skills in the supply chain context. The goal of this module is to develop and practice these skills. The topics it covers range from fundamental logistics and supply chain concepts (e.g. push vs. pull and postponement) to the development of supply chain strategies, relationships, and networks. We also consider different aspects of supply, operations, and distribution as core company elements. Here, the main focus is on transportation operations, on outsourcing services – especially logistics services – and the challenges associated with them, and on the design of distribution systems and network.
