A top manager’s task is to position his or her organization within its business environment and to become successful by establishing goals and strategies that can help the organization be competitive, perform well, and be profitable. It is about developing a set of tools and conceptual maps for uncovering the systematic relationships between the choices the manager makes and the performance the firm realizes. The aim of this module is to introduce students to the theory and practice of business strategy. Students shall understand strategic thinking, the complexity of strategic problems and decision-making, as well as the commonly applied frameworks and methods of strategic management.
