Ethics

Degree program: BSc Managment

This module focuses on famous corporate scandals like corruption at Siemens, the causes of the financial crisis and (in)famous individuals such as the former US government lobbyist Jack Abramov or whistleblower Edward Snowden. The main goal of the class is to provide students with the moral awareness to detect ethical dilemmas in their day-to-day lives rather than assuming that ethical challenges only face large corporations and their managers. Students will increase their self-knowledge through discussions and personal reflection, will get to know tools to analyze ethical dilemmas and will learn to define and argue their personal stance on ethical issues. Case studies, videos and exchange with practitioners will expose and sensitize students to a variety of real-world ethical challenges of the business environment and make clear why business ethics is relevant.
