Managing Supply Chain Complexity
Degree program: MSc Logistics & SCM
The objective of this module is to familiarize students with the increasing complexity of global supply chains and the important area of supply chain risk management. This module will help them identify the drivers of complexity in logistics networks and analyze how these drivers affect the decision-making processes. We will discuss the trade-offs between the benefits, risks, and costs of complexity issues. The students will analyze case studies to acquire in-depth knowledge of logistics, strategy, and decision-making. They will also become familiar with the system dynamics methodology as a tool for decision-making. System dynamics yields powerful insights into problems of dynamic complexity and policy resistance. Business uses this modeling and simulation methodology successfully for dynamic management problems.
