Bootcamp: Digitalization in Logistics

Internet of Things (IoT) and Chatbots - explore their significance!

March 21-23, 2018

Join us for the KLU Boot Camp 2018

The Internet of Things and Chatbots are the main focus for this year’s Boot Camp for Digitalization in Logistics, hosted by Kühne Logistics University; logistics and transportation company, Kühne + Nagel; and IT and support company IBM!

It is the dawn of a new era in the world of business thanks to digitalization. In the internet of things objects are constantly connected and able to exchange data with each other. Particularly in logistics, a field responsible for the movement of millions of goods, containers and/or palettes, this technology promises enormous advances in efficiency. Access to the most recent data allows for making data-supported decisions, helping to be better, faster and more reliable than the competition.  Simultaneously, new modes of interaction such as chatbots make it possible for customers to be part of the entire logistics process, connecting them to the internet of things itself. This enables them to make requests and place orders, follow deliveries in real time, and ensures that delivery data is adapted for each customer’s needs.

Join our free 3-day student workshop and tackle the following questions!

  • What potential exists for the new technology to optimize processes?
  • How does one collect and analyze data in order to use supply chains?
  • How might customers benefit from the new technology?

Work on authentic case studies and exchange ideas with experts from the field!

Representatives from Kühne + Nagel’s Business Intelligence & Analytics department will demonstrate how the new technology can be implemented. They will present case studies and, together with you, develop possible implementation tactics for which you provide initial solutions. Specialists from IBM’s department of Travel & Transport will provide you with the necessary tools to develop first prototypes. For this, you will gain access to the IBM cloud.

Get an intro to one of the leading IoT platforms and program your own chatbot!
