Øistein Jensen has been an active MACN Member representative for several years and Odfjell has been a Member since 2013. Øistein is Chief Sustainability Officer at Odfjell SE. In this role, Øistein has overall responsibility for sustainability, compliance, and strategic safety for the group. Øistein has been part of Executive Management in the group and was appointed to this role in August 2020 as a part of the company’s dedicated focus on sustainability. Øistein is an executive with broad experience in naval leadership, management consulting, corporate governance, and shipping. Øistein was previously a director at PwC Management consulting for 10 years, working on strategy, ESG, and compliance. Øistein came to PwC from the Navy where he served as captain of a submarine and commander for the submarine command training.  

Gordon Wilmsmeier is Associate Professor for Shipping and Global Logistics at Kühne Logistics University. In addition, he holds the Kühne Professorial Chair in Logistics at the School of Management, Universidad de los Andes at Bogotá, Colombia. He is a leading member of the research team collaborating with MACN in developing the Global Port Integrity Platform (GPIP). Further, he is the Director of the Project Development Office of the University´s Vice-presidency for Research and Creation. Gordon Wilmsmeier is honorary professor for Maritime Geography at the University of Applied Sciences in Bremen, Germany, visiting lecturer at Göteborg University, Sweden, and Associate Researcher of the Hapag-Lloyd Center for Shipping and Global Logistics (CSGL)at the Kühne Logistics University (KLU). He is leader of the global port performance research network (PPRN), and Vice-President of the International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME), member of the WCTRS Special Interest Group - Intermodal Freight, and associate member of PortEconomics. Since 2002 his research group is part of IDB´s university network “Energy Hub for Latin America and the Caribbean”.

Dr. Thanos Pallis is Professor in Port & Shipping Economics and Policy at the Department of Maritime Studies, University of Piraeus, Greece, and a leading member of the research team collaborating with MACN in developing the Global Port Integrity Platform (GPIP). Following two terms as President of the International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME) he currently serves as a member of its Council. The author of the acclaimed books “Port Economics Management and Policy” and the "European Port Policy", he has an extensive international experience in port policy and economics. Thanos co-directs PortEconomics and is a regular contributor to the work of national governments and international organisations (UNCTAD, OECD, and ESPO, IAPH, and AVIP) shaping the port sector and the maritime world.

As Associate Director for Collective Action and Partnership Development, Martin is responsible for scaling MACN´s Collective Action initiatives and for stewarding MACN’s partnerships with international donor organizations. Martin joined the MACN secretariat in 2014 and has since catalyzed and led Collective Action initiatives and Public Private Partnerships to tackle corruption in the port and maritime sector in various countries. He manages MACN’s Collective Action initiatives in e.g., Argentina, Indonesia, and MACN’s Collective Action initiative in Nigeria funded by the Siemens Integrity Initiative. Martin also provides oversight and ensures good governance of MACN’s grant portfolio. Prior to joining the MACN Secretariat, Martin worked as a sustainability consultant, advising corporate clients, international organizations and donor agencies. Martin holds a MSc in International Economics and a BA in International Relations.

Kai-Dieter Classen is a senior strategic advisor for law and policy to the management of the Hamburg Port Authority, which he joined in 2012. He is a member of the Legal Advisory Network as well as the Port Governance Committee of the European Sea Ports Organization (ESPO) and the Legal Committee of the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH). As an adjunct professor at Hamburg University’s Law School he teaches WTO-Law and European Seaports Law and is a Member of the Board of Examiners for European and International Law. Mr. Classen studied jurisprudence in Kiel (GER), Stockholm (SE), Hamburg (GER) and Berkeley (USA). He holds a PhD degree from Hamburg University in European Law and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from University of California at Berkeley in US Law and International Law. He worked as a graduate research assistant at the Universities of Hamburg and Berkeley, as a private lecturer and as a lawyer. As an official for the Hamburg State Government he served i.a. as a National Expert in the EU Commission’s Legal Service in the field of International Trade Law prior to joining Hamburg Port Authority.
