...a KLU MBA student from Germany (MBA in Leadership & Supply Chain Management, Class of 2022). Interviewed by Lauren Rondestvedt from the US, Program Manager at KLU.
Our part-time MBA in Leadership and Supply Chain Management is an exciting educational experience focused on preparing high potential professionals to become global leaders in supply chain operations and management. Find out why our students chose the program and how it helped them professionally and personally.
Today’s businesses find themselves at the heart of a vastly growing and dynamic network of information. To ensure that an organization can sustain a value proposition for customers and society over the long term requires the continual reevaluation of information relevant for business activities and keeping up with the newest developments in digital technologies. Students of KLU’s MBA program learn how to use information systems in an integrated way to support fact-based decision-making, interact effectively and efficiently within their organization as well as with partners, customers and other stakeholders and thus ultimately enhance the organizations’ competitiveness on a global scale.
Competing on a global scale requires an understanding of how global markets operate and how competitors in these markets compete. Proper organizational structure and leadership are necessary if a global strategy is to be effectively implemented and for sustainable value to be created for stakeholders. KLU’s MBA provides students with the tools, leadership skills and financial practices necessary to develop a sustainable corporate strategy and to implement an organizational structure that supports this strategy.
Furthermore, long-term value creation only occurs if an organization can consistently develop new and valuable products for their customers and society. KLU’s MBA teaches students how to develop new products using processes and procedures that are driven by “voice of the customer” marketing and sales activities.
Organizational activities do not occur in an isolated manner. Operations impact the workers who perform the work, the society in which the work is performed, the environment and all stakeholders from owners to customers. To create consistent and sustainable value requires leadership not only in the technical areas of operations management, but in the areas of socio-economic sustainability and human resource leadership. KLU’s MBA teaches students effective and efficient operations techniques concerning green and lean operations and how to engage the hearts and minds of employees by leading through listening, so that their organizations create long-term, sustainable value.
The sessions of module 6 and 7 are held at our international partner universities Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University, U.S.A. and Tongji University, Shanghai, China to enhance global and inter-cultural business skills. During the two trips, students will experience how other cultures learn and work. The study trips are entirely organized by the KLU and expenses regarding teaching materials, meals, excursions and supporting program are covered. Please note that costs regarding flights and visa arrangements are not covered. The program coordinator will provide you with all important information regarding visa applications. Please make sure that you book your flights and apply for your visa well in advance. Please note that both study trips are fully recognized as educational leave. We will provide you with the relevant confirmation.

The KLU MBA program not only focuses on intellectual development. Personal development also plays an important role. This program greatly succeeds in both.
The MBA program has had a lasting impact on my (professional) life. Approaching new topics with a necessary degree of curiosity, openness and determination was a very important experience and encourages you to meet new challenges with an open mind, both in professional and private life. This international study program was an absolute benefit for me personally. It has contributed a lot to my thinking and acting and I was able to get to know great fellow students. I am very grateful to have been able to study at such a great university, with a professional administration and such great professors.
The MBA program is a very good opportunity for those who want to leave their comfort zone and develop themselves further. The program provides an optimal foundation for this in terms of content, fellow students, professors and fun! I highly recommend the program.
Choosing KLU was one of the greatest decisions I have ever made. The MBA made my experience and knowledge grow so much. Even today I am connected with my classmates and I am using the gained knowledge in my constantly growing career path.
Joining the MBA program at KLU was definitely the right decision for me and I would highly recommend it to anyone that is interested in taking up an MBA. Why is that? Three reasons stood out for me: relevant and real-life topics that are taught by top academics or industry experts, fruitful and engaging discussions with co-students from across the globe and a setup of monthly study sessions in Hamburg that made it possible to attend while working full-time.
The program is properly focused and includes strategies for business management, leadership, and logistics. It fits my needs perfectly, since it enables me to work while studying. I absolutely recommend it.
This MBA is an attractive opportunity for anyone who seeks to reflect on previous work experience and to get ready for new challenges. Relevant and practical contents combined with a modern and open-minded university culture make this program a truly worthwhile experience.
This program is the next step to revealing my leadership character and considering it from a global perspective for future growth within my company. It helps to look at your work, yourself, and your interaction in a group from a different angle.
Thanks to the MBA program at KLU I’ve started to change my life – professionally in my career and also in my private life. The Intensive exchange during this international program has changed me, teaching me new hard skills but also critical thinking and an open-minded approach to everything.
The MBA at the KLU was an excellent opportunity to learn how to exploit my strengths and develop my soft skills. The professors transmit passion, professionalism and experience to the students through the study of real case studies, accompanied with an excellent atmosphere at the campus.
For the business world and private life, the program provides its participants the needed knowledge and skills to build their own strategies, to form their own views and tackle difficult decisions and complicated situations. The experience is worth it.
Many thanks for 18 inspiring months in which I was able to grow in so many ways. Great classmates, great professors, great & challenging sessions – all in all a decision I will never regret.
The set-up of the program allows me to continue my professional career while enhancing my educational knowledge, leading to a faster know-how transfer. The professors are motivating and the participants benefit from a wide range of international experiences.
The program covers a wide range of topics that will foster the soft skills you need to become a great leader and professional. Completing such a program also challenges you on different levels; coping with work, travel, school and life balance. The international environment and small classes make it possible to have enriching discussions.
One of the best things about the program is our study method. There are lots of discussions in the class and participants from three different continents and several different markets make them quite lively. It helps me understand and evaluate the markets even better.
I have excellent memories of the great times during my MBA at KLU. Everybody involved, the KLU staff, my fellow students and all the people we met on our 1.5-year journey made it an unforgettable experience.
