Abhishek joined the Kühne Logistics University as a postdoctoral research fellow in the field of operations management and logistics in February 2019. He received an M.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur (India) in 2011. He qualified GATE – 2012 with All India Rank – 46, and CSIR – JRF June – 2012 with All India Rank – 32 in Mathematics. He also received an M.Tech. in Industrial Mathematics and Scientific Computing (IMSC) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, Chennai (India) in 2014, and his master thesis was on 'Monte Carlo Simulation of Stochastic Volatility Models'. He was awarded the Prof Helmut Neunzert Endowment Prize for the best academic record in IMSC of the M.Tech. degree program for the period 2012-2104.
In October 2014, he started as a Ph.D. researcher at the University of Amsterdam in collaboration with the Eindhoven University of Technology (The Netherlands), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rudesindo Núñez-Queija, Prof. dr. Michel Mandjes, Prof. Dr. Onno Boxma, and Dr. Marko Boon, and his project was about the congestion analysis of unsignalized road traffic intersections. In January 2018, he received the LNMB (in Dutch: Landelijk Netwerk Mathematische Besliskunde) diploma for Ph.D. courses in Mathematics of Operations Research. He received his doctorate in January 2019. His main research interests are broadly in the field of applied and computational mathematics, in particular, optimization, applied probability, operations research, logistics, queueing theory, financial mathematics, stochastic modeling and simulation.
