Graduate MSc Management 2015
After finishing my Bachelor in International Business and joining the professional market, I still had the craving to increase my value and knowledge as a professional, but also as a person. I envisioned finding a university that would not only help me achieve this objective but would more than meet my expectations.
Why I wanted to study in Germany:
I have always seen the German culture as being highly developed, organized, highly educated, and advanced. I felt that to start on the path to finding superior education, I should look at Germany.
Why I wanted to study at KLU:
Honestly, the first time I heard about KLU was from my brother. When he started to search for a Master’s program to study, he talked about everything KLU was already offering back then, when it was just starting. Since I wasn’t interested in a Master’s yet, I didn’t pay any attention to him. If I had, it could have saved me months of Internet searches, e-mails, and international university events. After looking into the topic for a while, I realized that what is more important than the commercial ranking the university had was the actual content of their programs. I started a quality search then, what did they offer? Do the programs actually make sense with the kind of professional direction I was looking for? It was all reduced in the end to two or three universities, KLU among them. At that moment I actually started asking my brother more about KLU, and I also researched about what it had already achieved in the little time since it started. I started feeling “this is it.” The quality of the content and the direction of the Management program with a focus on logistics resembled just what I was looking for, and I now know I made the right decision.
This is what Miguel is up to:
- Focusing on getting the most out of KLU, but also doing what I can for this wonderful community
- Learning German
- Discovering more and more things in Hamburg
These are the subjects which Miguel can also help you on:
- What you can expect from KLU.
- Adapting to life in Hamburg without knowing German. (I’m still learning)
- Application and information on the Management program.
Miguel’s tips for Hamburg:
- First of all, I can tell you German people are really kind and friendly, contrary to popular belief.
- Moving around the city is really easy with a map, and there are also a lot of apps for smartphones that could help you.
- Don’t forget to bring an umbrella!
What is one piece of advice Miguel would give to a prospective student interested in KLU?
This is an important choice in your life, you are choosing your future. The KLU will give you more than a title: it will give you multi-cultural experience, a high academic level, and help you grasp a real sense of direction in your professional life.
What Miguel hopes to do after graduation:
I would really like to work in the logistics area or enterprise consultancy.
What Miguel likes the most about KLU:
Certainly the academic quality, in the little amount of time I have been here I have realized that the quality and the teaching methods of the professors at KLU are way beyond that of anything I have seen before.
