Logistics Decarbonisation Workshop at KLU

Kühne Logistics University hosted a Logistics Decarbonization workshop today (May 5) in Hamburg as part of a broad research project. Some of the top specialists in the field from a range of European countries, India and South Africa were in attendance.

Professor Alan McKinnon, Head of Logistics at KLU presented the current international discussion in his keynote “Decarbonization of Logistics: Progress, Opportunities and Challenges.” The three groups that discussed potential carbon savings are involved in technologies (vehicles, IT and handling systems), markets (freight modal split, role of logistics providers and collaboration) and operations (vehicle utilization, fuel efficiency and alternative fuels).
