Panel Discussion: Does respect bear a quota?

Microphone on table

Do formal quota agreements serve or, instead, undermine justice? And can they foster mutual respect in organizations and society? During a public panel discussion hosted by KLU, four discussants shed light on the advantages and disadvantages of quota agreements in employment policies.

Moderator Daniel Gläser, vice director of RespectResearchGroup, guided Christa Beyer (consultant and politician), Julika Rollin (CEO of Common Purpose Germany), Dr. Stephan Böhm (Director of the Center for Disability and Integration at the University of St. Gallen), and Andreas Majewski (Criminal Counselor, Berlin Police Department) through a thought-provoking debate. When invited to do so, the audience made a lively contribution to the critical reflection. The informal reception afterwards encouraged follow-up discussions and new acquaintances.

The panel discussion is the traditional opener of the annual RespectResearchGroup interdisciplinary colloquium that promotes the exchange of ideas between practitioners and young researchers for the purposes of mutual inspiration and the resolution of practical issues. Prof. Niels Van Quaquebeke, founder and former head of RespectResearchGroup, welcomed the discussants and guests with a short speech.
