Hey everyone, I am Martin, and I studied for my Master of Science in Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management at KLU and will graduate this year. In the framework of the fast-track program, I had the opportunity to spend two months in 2022 (October – December) in Singapore as part of my master's thesis. With Prof. Dr. Kai Hoberg, KLU, and Prof Dr. Goh from the National University of Singapore (NUS), I was allowed to write my thesis in cooperation with the Singaporean start-up company FlyORO. During my stay, I worked with the colleagues of FlyORO, which were eager to introduce me to Singaporean culture, food, and lifestyle. With its 5.5 million residents living in an area smaller than Hamburg, you truly experience the 'big city life' vibe. Known for its exclusive and luxurious ambiance, high standards for safety, and one of the cleanest countries on earth, I was able to experience something unique. Looking back, it was a great opportunity to experience the Singaporean lifestyle. I not only had the chance to enhance my professional skills and feel the working culture in Singapore, but also to get to know a new culture, make new friends, and grow on new challenges. Once again, that is why KLU is a great place to study. Especially if you are interested in logistics and enjoy an international environment. Providing unique opportunities for their students is a valuable quality of KLU – always eager to push their students and to grow in new challenges. Furthermore, I will be starting my professional career as a Supply Chain Analyst in Hamburg soon, and together with Prof. Dr. Kai Hoberg (KLU) and Prof. Dr. Goh (NUS), we are aiming to use my master's thesis to provide essential and valuable insights for an academic research paper. Feel free to contact me with any questions regarding my stay in Singapore or the fast-track study program at KLU.
