Catharina Vogt is doing her PhD under supervision of Prof. Dr. Erich H. Witte (University of Hamburg) and Prof. Dr. Niels Van Quaquebeke (Kühne Logistics University). Her research focuses on the effects of respectful leadership at work, especially if, why, and when respectful leadership is good for employees and their work. A psychologist by training, she holds a diploma from the Technische Universität Dresden with the main foci on Work and Organizational Psychology as well as Clinical Psychology. She wrote her Master's thesis about stress and strain at workplaces in the metal and electrical industry.
Since 2009, Catharina has been working for the German Police University. First, she managed the BMBF [Federal Ministry of Education and Research] and European Social Fond advocated project “BiS - Berufe im Schatten” [Jobs in the Shadow]. She investigated determinants of service quality in retail trade and health care services. From 2012 to 2014 she worked as a research assistant in the EU-Project "COREPOL - Conflict Resolution, Mediation and Restorative Justice and the Policing of Ethnic Minorities in Germany, Austria, and Hungary" at the German Police University in Münster, where she moreover teaches research methods and supervises police students' Master's theses.
In 2011, Catharina became a member of the interdisciplinary RespectResearchGroup, a group of young scientists who investigate the essences and functions of interpersonal respect in various domains, such as business, education, or society in general.
