Five professors from Kühne Logistics University (KLU) rank among the top researchers in business administration research. This is the result of the most recent (2014) Handelsblatt rankings of research-oriented academics in business administration research in the German-speaking region.

“This major success confirms the trend KLU started two years ago,” said KLU president Thomas Strothotte. The rankings include the categories of Top 100 Current Researchers, Top 100 Researchers Under 40 and Top 250 Researcher Life’s Work.

Four KLU professors with impressive life’s work in academic research are in the “Top 250.” Dr. h.c. Sönke Albers, professor of marketing and innovation, head of the Management department and dean of research, has already been one of the best 250 researchers. In this ranking, he is an outstanding number 12. Dr. Matthias Holweg, the professor of production who is now at the University of Oxford (no. 61), Dr. ManMohan Sodhi, professor of logistics and supply chain management (no. 68), and Dr. Alan McKinnon, professor of logistics and head of the KLU Logistics department (no. 78) also achieved top rankings.

The business newspaper publishes its rankings every two years. Dr. Niels Van Quaquebeke, professor of leadership and organizational behavior and one of the “Top 100 Researchers Under 40,” jumped from no. 93 in 2012 to no. 77 in 2014.
