Happy Birthday! KLU is 5!

KLU presidents and heads of administration on stage

KLU celebrated its 5th anniversary in October 2015 after a very successful year.

Excellent rankings, the accreditation by the Science Council, and permanent state approval by the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg were some of the most important milestones in the fifth year of the university’s existence.

The highlight of the birthday celebration was a panel discussion between the current president, Professor Thomas Strothotte, and the current head of administration, Fabian Berger, with their predecessors Dr. Wolfgang Peiner, the founding president, and Dr. Reimar Palte, KLU’S first head of administration.

The challenges they faced in the past five years were varied, but they all agreed on one point: KLU has developed splendidly and fulfilled all of their (different) expectations.

“Our founder, Dr. h.c. Klaus Michael Kühne, invested in us because he believed KLU would become a top business school for logistics, supply chain management, and leadership by providing the best possible education for our students and providing intellectual leadership through our faculty,” said President Strothotte. Dean of Research Albers added: “My dream was to establish KLU as top business school – and it has come true!”

Next, the old and new presidents and the old and new heads of administration performed an official duty together: they blew out the five candles on the university’s birthday cake.
