JOM is one of the most important journals in operations management, focusing also on humanitarian logistics. The mission of Journal of Operations Management (JOM) is to publish original, empirical operations management research that demonstrates both academic and practical relevance. The journal is considered top tier A-journal, listed among FT Research's 45 Premier Journals.
As an editorial review board member Prof. Besiou is asked to help maintain and improve the journal standards by monitoring the editorial policy of JOM in terms of scope and the level and quality of papers published. An additional and key task is to review papers if invited by the editor. Prof. Besiou was nominated for having this role because of her very strong expertise in the field of humanitarian logistics. This is further evidence of the outstanding scientific quality of KLU's faculty.
