Nimisha Gopakumar convinced the jury by dedicating herself entirely to her studies in the humanitarian sector and by working hard to improve opportunities in this sector. She was unable to accept the award herself as her current research project took her to the Philippines.
"I am honored to have received the scholarship because it confirms that my goal of using the knowledge gained here for the benefit of the community is recognized by my colleagues and mentors," she says. “The scholarship allows me to increase my commitment to this cause. Tragedies are inevitable and nature is intransigent. But humanity has the resources to come up with solutions."
The scholarship holder is currently enrolled in the MSc program in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Kühne Logistics University having 1.5 years of experience in logistics and the freight forwarding sector and a couple of months of experience as junior financial analyst and content writer.
The University warmly congratulates on this success. "Nimisha Gopakumar contributes to a project on which KLU has been working with various humanitarian organizations for three years. The entire humanitarian sector is eagerly awaiting the results," says Maria Besiou, Professor of Humanitarian Logistics at Kühne Logistics University.
Considering the time after the Master's degree, Nimisha Gopakumar aims to bring effective logistics solutions to war-torn and displaced nations as part of a humanitarian organization. "My motive is to recede human suffering and thereby restoring peace and humanity."
