Abstract

The field of humanitarian logistics and disaster management faces unique challenges in both rapid onset disaster and slow onset disaster. Addressing these challenges requires a nuanced understanding of supply chain management and the effective coordination among stakeholders in various disaster scenarios, whether natural or man-made. Key aspects include information management, effective communication, and leadership, which play crucial roles in enhancing the effectiveness of disaster responses. A comprehensive approach that bridges the gap between immediate life-saving efforts and effective recovery strategies is essential. By exploring these dynamics, there is an opportunity to significantly improve the resilience, efficiency, and impact of humanitarian logistics and disaster response, ultimately aiding in alleviating human suffering and facilitating recovery in areas affected by disasters.
