As part of its effort to enhance its international presence in Southeast Asia, KLU – Kühne Logistics University, based in Hamburg, Germany, is set to establish an educational hub in Vietnam. To mark this initiative, KLU, headed by president Prof. Dr. Kaplan, will host the 1st South-East Asia Research Symposium on Supply Chains for a Sustainable Future in Ho Chi Minh City. The symposium is co-hosted by CFVG.

Keynote address: "Role of Logistics in the Climate Crisis"
by Prof. Alan McKinnon, PhD, Professor of Logistics at KLU – Kühne Logistics University

As part of the symposium, the results of a study by the International Transport Forum (ITF) at OECD on the current challenges of supply chains in Southeast Asia will be presented by Prof. Alan McKinnon (KLU - Kühne Logistics University, Germany) and Prof. Ruth Banomyong (Thammasat Business School, Thailand).

KLU in collaboration with CFVG welcome submissions in all areas of sustainable supply chains and logistics as well as their interfaces. This includes the following topics (not limited):

Submission details: The submission deadline is Sunday April 28, 2024. Participants are asked to send in a short abstract (100 words) of their paper or research work and, if selected, are asked to present (either in poster format or presentation) in the sessions planned for Friday, May 31. Individuals selected as participants will be notified on or before May 5, 2024. 

The research symposium is part of a two-day conference on Supply Chains for a Sustainable Future that takes place on May 30 and 31, 2024. The conference opening on May 30, 2024 will feature two panel discussions focusing on the social and environmental aspects of sustainability in South-East Asia. These panels will include academic and industry experts from the region. A cocktail buffet will follow the conference.
